Helsinki's (and Finland's) gem: The historic Suomenlinna Fortress Island(s). Suomenlinna is a national monument, and rightfully; on Unesco's World Heritage list. It isdefinitely worth visiting. Below, some images from this historic group of islands. Enjoy the scenery: the fortress structures, the tunnels, the old buildings, the shore line views, either displaying the island scenery or the Helsinki skyline, the numoerous picnic spots, the small beaches, the restaurants and cafes, the beaches - and last but not least: the atmosphere, rich in history. Mustasaari, Länsi-Mustasaari, Särkkä, Pormestarinluodot and Lonna. Särkkä island is closest to this pier. The taxi boat is "pointig" at it. Särkkä also hosts the gourmet summer restaurant "Särkkä".
